Little rain this week, dry for most before turning colder and wetter inn the weekend and next week

Mostly dry this week although some rain in northern Scotland. Cold for most, a risk of slight frosts in parts of central Scotland and northern England. Staying cold into the weekend and next week in northern areas as rain and some milder air arrives in the south. All areas then wetter with strong east to northeast winds developing through the weekend and into next week.

Friday 8/5/26
Low pressure north of Scotland on Friday. A weakening cold front bringing cloud and some showery rain, most of it light, to Scotland and northern England. Sunny spells for the rest of England and Wales, but the risk of some heavy, thundery showers developing in southern Wales and southern England. Ireland is going to be mostly dry with sunny spells, just an isolated shower later. Highs around 11C in northern Scotland, but more widely 14 to 18C.


Saturday 9/5/26
Lower pressure developing south of the British Isles through Saturday. Cloud and rain pushing north through central and southern England and Wales, the winds increasing too. A further front giving some cloud in Scotland and outbreaks of rain. Scattered showers and sunny spells elsewhere. Highs at 21C in southern England, a colder 11 to 14C in Scotland and Ireland.
 


Sunday 10/5/26
Low pressure over the south of the country on Sunday. Cloud and rain, some of it thundery and heavy across England, Wales and parts of Ireland. Scotland is brighter in the west, cloudy in the east. Highs at 9 to 12C for most of Scotland, Ireland, northern England and Wales, 18C in southern England.


 


Monday 11/5/26
Low pressure remains on Monday. heavy showers for England and Wales. Rain in southern Scotland and Ireland. A few showers for northern Scotland but one or two bright spells here. Highs at a cold 8C in Scotland and Ireland, 16C across central and southern England.


 


Tuesday 12/5/26
Pressure stays low on Tuesday with rain across much of England and Wales. Colder in northern areas with sunny spells, a few showers in the east. Highs at 14C in the far south of England, mostly 9 to 12C.

Wednesday 13/5/26
A cold and bright day for many. Rain and showers clear south and then most areas are dry. A low risk of a shower in the east. Highs at 9 to 12C.
