Wetter later this week

High pressure to the north east of the country will keep the weather mostly unchanged for much of this week. A chilly east to north east wind will bring in cloud and showers at times, these mostly across eastern areas. Later in the week a deeper area of low pressure may herald in a more unsettled weather pattern with heavier rain possible by the weekend. Overall temperatures will be below normal.

Mostly cloudy and rather breezy from the east. Scattered showers to mainly affect central and eastern areas with few if any in the west. Remaining chilly with below normal temperatures. Expect high temperatures of 11 to 15C.

Not much change in the weather today with scattered showers across central and eastern areas and with a good deal of cloud. Mainly dry in the west. Quite a breezy day. Remaining chilly. Highs of 12 to 14C.

Rain spills in across Northern Ireland and western Scotland during the day. Scattered showers to affect the rest of Britain and generally a cloudy day. Less windy today. Rain affects western Britain in the night. Highs of 11 to 13C.

The day is more unsettled and it appears quite a wet day for most with outbreaks of rain, some of it heavy. It continues quite cool. Highs of 10 to 13C.

Confidence is low but some rain lingering across northern areas, brighter to the south with a few heavy showers, some may be with thunder. Very windy across the west. Highs of 10 to 13C.

Monday 17/10/16
It continues unsettled with frequent heavy showers and a risk of thunder. These may merge into longer spells of rain. Expect highs of 12 to 16C.
