Rather deep area of low pressure set to track to the north and north-west of the UK through the day and this bring a more unsettled period of weather with a spell of rain moving south and east, heaviest and most persistent in the north and west through the morning, the rain lighter and more patchy by the time it reaches south-east England. Cool, but bright and showery weather to follow. Potentially very windy across parts of the north and west.Highs 13C to 19C, lowest in the north and west.
Further unsettled weather is likely for more northern and western areas into Friday at the moment, particularly Scotland, Ireland and parts of N England where some further rain or showers are possible and still rather windy here as well. A ridge of high pressure extends eastwards to the south of the UK through the day so more central and southern areas of England and Wales should have a mainly dry day with some sunny spells. Warm in the south, cooler in the north. Highs 14C to 21C, highest across south-east England.
By Saturday and similar conditions are forecast to continue with lower pressure situated just to the west or north-west maintaining unsettled conditions across more northern and western areas, while pressure remains higher just to the south of the UK so more southern areas, overall, drier and brighter with just a few showers. Still perhaps rather breezy in the north and west. Cool in the north, warmer in the south. Highs 14C to 20C.
