Wet and windy start, then drier and brighter for several days ahead of more rain and wind later

An unsettled start to the week as low pressure passes east bringing wind and rain. Becoming drier and brighter for several days in the middle of the week, some cool nights but milder days. Becoming more unsettled again towards the end of the forecast period.

Tuesday 1/10/24
Low pressure remains off East Anglia on Tuesday. Fronts surrounding the low bringing rain to central and eastern areas of England. Some patchy rain too in eastern Scotland. Brighter for the west of Scotland, western Wales and southwest England, although an occasional shower here. Brighter in Ireland, dry with some good sunny spells. Windy in the east too. Highs at 12 to 15C.

Wednesday 2/10/24
High pressure north of Scotland on Wednesday. A northeast wind bringing a few showers to the coasts of East Anglia. Good spells of sunshine in the north and west but always more cloud in the east. Highs at 13 to 17C.



 
 
 

Thursday 3/10/24
High pressure remains on Thursday. A fine day with good spells of sunshine, although always the risk of some cloud affecting eastern coasts and hills. Some drizzle is possible in southern Ireland. Highs at 13 to 17C.



 
 
 

Friday 4/10/24
High pressure is east of East Anglia on Friday bringing another dry day for many. Sunny spells for most and dry. Increasing cloud in the far west with rain and stronger winds in Ireland, a risk of gales here. Highs at 13 to 16C.

A change to low pressure on Saturday, this feature becoming centred west of Ireland. Fronts push east bringing cloud and rain. Highs at 12 to 17C.

Sunday 6/10/24
he area of low pressure passes east taking wind and rain with it. Turning windier and colder later in the day. Highs at 10 to 16C.
