Friday 05/08/16 A ridge of high pressure builds from the south-west. Dry with a good amount of sunshine for most places, particularly coastal areas. A few showers are possible in eastern areas of Scotland & England, mostly afternoon. High cloud may thicken across Ireland as fronts approach from the west, perhaps giving a little rain later. A west to south-westerly breeze. Top temperatures 18 to 21C north & west, up to 23C south & east.
Saturday 06/08/16 High pressure to the south, whilst low pressure develops over the Atlantic. Fronts move across Ireland & Scotland, with rain or drizzle developing, turning persistent over the West Highlands. Thickening cloud for western England & Wales, perhaps a spot of rain on western hills, and the south-west may become murky. Dry with warm sunshine in the south & east. Highs 18 to 21C north & west, 23 to 25C central & south-east England, feeling humid.
Sunday 07/08/16 A deep area of low pressure passes to the north of Scotland, bringing a windy day to northern Britain, risk of gales in the far north. Much lighter winds in the south. A weak cold front moves east across northern Britain, bringing variable cloud and risk of a few showers. Dry with plenty of sunshine in the south, and a brighter day in the south-west. Fresh in the north at 16 to 19C, but reaching 23 to 25C central areas, perhaps 27C in south-east.
Monday 08/08/16 High pressure is likely to influence much of the country, bringing a fair day with plenty of sunshine. Low pressure to the north-west may bring rain to Ireland & western Scotland, although detail uncertain. Mostly light winds and coastal sea breezes. Risk stronger southerlies in the north-west. Temperatures ranging from a fresh 17 to 20C north & west, to a fairly humid 23 to 26C south & east.
Tuesday 09/08/16 Confidence of timing is low. High pressure to the south may result in another fair day for southern England & Wales. Low pressure moving toward Scotland brings a risk of strengthening winds, and showery rain for the north & west. A weak front passing south-east brings thicker cloud and a little rain to central & northern England. Highs 17 to 20C north & west; 22 to 25C south & east.
Wednesday 10/08/16 Looking increasingly changeable as north-westerly winds freshen across the country. Showers becoming increasingly widespread from the north. Occasional sunshine, best in the south and near coasts. Feeling cooler. Temperatures 16 to 22C.
