Up and down weather through the next week or so. Temperatures fluctuating too.
Mainly settled to start the week with high pressure close by, before becoming unsettled with rain, brisk winds and a brief cooler snap at the end of the week. The weekend may be mixed but temperatures look to recover, particularly further south where they could feel warm.

A dry start for southern areas but cloud will soon thicken here as a band of rain continues to track southwards down the country. Further north behind the rain winds will strengthen and it will feel relatively fresh with sunny spells for a time before more rain moves in to northwestern regions. Highs at cool 13 to 16C in the north, 18 to 23C further south.
Low pressure moves to the east of Scotland on Thursday. Strengthened winds throughout the country with rain affecting Scotland, particularly further east. Blustery showers in the west but mostly dry in the south and across most eastern regions. A chillier day for all too. Highs at 13 to 19C.
Low pressure pushes into Scandinavia on Friday. Less windy today but rain again expected to move in across Scotland. Largely dry elsewhere as a weak ridge builds in here. A little less cool further south but staying chilly in the north with highs at 14 to 18C.
A transient ridge builds in across the country on Saturday, allowing for a mostly dry day but with winds picking up again towards the north and west. Cloud thickening in the west later with the risk of some rain reaching western regions of Scotland and Ireland by the end of the day. Highs at relatively milder 17 to 21C.
Low pressure moves in closer to Scotland on Sunday suggesting a more unsettled day with rain, heavy at times, moving in from the west. Windy for all but mild towards the east. Highs at 15 to 19C in the north and west, between 19 and 24C elsehwere.
Low pressure dominant on Sunday. Rain in the west most likely with some possible heavier rain across some southern English counties too. Driest of condiitons further east. Less windy but still rather breezy. Highs at 15 to 22C.
