Perhaps cooler later

Initially high pressure will keep fronts to the west with a good deal of fine dry weather to come. Temperatures are expected to rise as it becomes hot. Models suggest a change to more unsettled condition around mid week. Pressure may then build in again later with lower temperatures possible.

Very warm but hot across England. Rain affects across Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. Mainly dry with lots of sunshine across England and Wales but there may be a few heavy, thundery showers towards the south west. Expect high temperatures of 20 to 30C.

Wednesday 14/09/16
It may be more unsettled with a risk of thundery rain across England and Wales, fair and dry to the north. There is some uncertainty in the forecast for today. Remaining quite warm. Highs of 20 to 27C.

 
 
 

Thursday 15/09/16
Today temperatures dip to closer to normal. A fresher day with outbreaks of rain running in across Britain but staying dry and sunniest across East Anglia and the south east. Windy in the west. Highs of 16 to 21C.

Cool and unsettled with showers and longer spells of rain, some of which may be heavy. Turning drier by evening. Temperatures will be near normal. Highs of 14 to 18C.

 
 
 

Saturday 17/09/16
It continues cool with occasional showers for western areas. In the east it's dry and sunniest. Highs of 15 to 18C.

Sunday 18/09/16
Fine, warmer and dry across the country this morning with sunny spells in the east. More cloudy in the west as rain spreads into north west Scotland. Expect highs of 16 to 21C.
