Feeling fresher

A mixed week, fresher overall

Turning fresh through Friday and into the weekend as low pressure becomes a feature west of the UK. This brings some rain and gales to Scotland and Ireland. Some rain affects the rest of England and Wales too. A mixed start to the new week but then a few better and drier days for many, becoming a little warmer again too.

For the weather for the next few days click here

Friday 9/9/16
A large area of low pressure is to the northwest of the UK on Friday. A few showers are possible across parts of central, southern and eastern England Friday morning with some bright or sunny spells here and there. More persistent rain moves into Ireland as a smaller area of low pressure swings northeast. This heavier rain will be affecting much of central and western Scotland on Friday afternoon with winds reaching gale force in Ireland and western Scotland. Drier elsewhere with some bright spells. Tops at 14C in northern Scotland, 21C in southern England.

Saturday 10/9/16
A front passing east on Saturday brings the risk of some heavy bursts of rain to many areas. It is likely to be most central and eastern parts that see much of the rain, this slowly clearing east in the afternoon. Brighter weather with sunny spells follows to the west, a few showers on western casts and hills. Highs at 16 to 22C.

Sunday 11/9/16
Low pressure west of Scotland on Sunday with the risk of some heavy rain across Ireland and western Scotland. Winds may reach gale force here too. England, Wales and eastern Scotland are gong to be drier with some bright or sunny spells. Warm in the southeast at 23C, nearer 16 to 21C elsewhere.

Monday 12/9/16
Low pressure northwest of Scotland on Monday pushes a front eastwards. This brings rain to much of Scotland, northern and western England and Wales. Perhaps drier in the east, although rain here later. becoming brighter to the west and fresher too with sunny spells and showers. Highs at 14 to 23C.

Tuesday 13/9/16
A weak ridge of high pressure builds through Tuesday. This should give a drier day for most with sunny spells. An odd shower affects western Scotland and Ireland as well as Wales and southwest England. Highs near 16 to 23C.

Wednesday 14/9/16
Probably staying fair on Wednesday as a ridge of high pressure remains over the UK. This brings dry weather with some sunny spells. Highs near 16 to 23C.
