A colder weekend then windy and more unsettled in the middle of next week
Turning cold at the end of this week and into the weekend with overnight frost and some fog. Turning more mixed into the middle of next week with a stronger westerly wind developing. Lower pressure to the north pushes bands of rain south later as temperatures become milder.

The ridge of high pressure remains across Scotland, northern England and much of Ireland on Saturday, a widespread frost. It should be a mostly dry day here but with sunshine. Feeling cold too, although some showers in northern Scotland, these wintry open hills. To the south an area of low pressure too be passing east and this will be bringing wind, cloud and rain to areas close to southern coasts of England. Windy in the south too. Highs at 3 to 6C.
Another chilly start to the day on Sunday with higher pressure to the west and lower pressure to the east. A widespread early frost. Some showers around northern and eastern coasts, these wintry on hills. Sunny spells elsewhere. Highs at 3 to 6C.
High pressure remains over Ireland and much of the UK. It is going to be dry with sunny spells, although the threat of isolated mist and fog patches at first as well as a widespread frost. More cloud and some drizzle or patchy rain in northern Scotland. Highs at 3 to 7C.
High pressure remains over the south of the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. A southwest wind brings more cloud into Scotland. Some low cloud over northwest coasts of England. Some mist and fog in Wales and other areas of England, lifting to some sunny spells. Highs at 3 to 7C.
A weak ridge of high pressure to the south on Wednesday. Fronts passing eats through Scotland bringing cloud and rain here. Winds reaching gale force in northern areas. Best sunshine in the south. Highs near 4 to 7C.
Windy again on Thursday as low pressure passes north of the country. This brings rain to Scotland and Ireland, perhaps into northern England and Wales too. Highs at 10C in southern England, 5C in northern Scotland.
