Sunday 14/01/2024 As high pressure moves to the west of the UK, a northerly flow will develop over the country bringing colder temperatures as well as wintry showers. Expect frequent blustery showers of sleet or snow over the north and east Scotland as well as eastern parts of England, but we should expect only slight accumulations over higher ground through the day. Further west it will be drier with sunny spells. Best of the drier and brighter weather over the southwest England. Windy in north and east, but lighter elsewhere. Temperatures at around at 3-4C in north and east, but up to 6C elsewhere. Widespread frost developing overnight.
Monday 15/01/2024 A frosty start to the day for most. Cloudier with some wintry showers in north and east in the morning and early afternoon, but high pressure will push east through the day, with showers dying away later. A risk of a period of rain or snow in far north Scotland later in the day, otherwise it will get drier across most parts. In the afternoon, temperatures will rise up to 2C in north, but 4C in south.
Tuesday 16/01/2024 The day will start frosty almost across most parts. Across the north it will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain or sleet and hill snow, that will clear later in the day. Further south it will be a mostly dry day with some bright spells. Some thicker cloud will reach southwest England later in the evening with some light rain. Temperatures will remain just above freezing over Scotland and Northern Ireland in the afternoon, but will rise to 3-5C over England and Wales.
Wednesday 17/01/2024 The confidence of the weather forecast for Wednesday is very low at the moment. However there is a risk for rain spreading north through the day. Rain will turn into snow over central and northern parts of England as well as Wales. Further north a northerly flow will give occasional wintry showers. A cold day for all.
Thursday 18/01/2024 Any remaining snow will clear through the morning, with a mostly dry and bright day following for all. Occasional showers will remain in far north. Another cold day with maximum at around freezing in north.
