Rain over the north and northwest of Scotland will move south across Scotland and into the north of Ireland too, although some eastern parts of Scotland will see little in the way of rain. Some of the rain will be heavy, especially over windward hill slopes in the west of Scotland. England and Wales will be largely dry with hazy sunshine, although cloud may thicken to give a little rain or drizzle in the far northwest of England later. A stiff southwesterly wind will set in across Northern England, Scotland and Ireland, with gales for exposed areas of Western Scotland. A cool day generally, especially in the rain-affected north, highs 10 to 15C.
