Rain later in west

Wednesday
A windy start to Wednesday morning with gust of 40 to 50mph. Some rain in southern Scotland and northern England, clearing east as showers arrive in western Scotland. Turning brighter and drier for most with sunny spells developing. The afternoon sees cloud and rain into southern Ireland, Wales and southwest England by mid afternoon, other areas drier with the best of any sunny spells in the east and still showers in western Scotland. The winds easing. Highs at7C in northern Scotland, 13C in southeast England.


Wednesday Night
Rain becomes heavy as it passes east through England and Wales overnight. A risk of localised flooding in places. Drier Scotland and Ireland, although rain in the far south of Ireland at first. Lows at 0C in Scotland, 2C in Ireland, 11C in southern England.

 
 
 


Thursday
Rain clearing central and eastern England early on Thursday morning. This allows a colder, northwest flow to affect all areas of the country. Sunny spells and largely dry, although showers affecting northern and western Scotland as well as western parts of England and Wales. Highs around 6 to 8C.
 


Friday
Rain for Scotland and Ireland on Friday morning as fronts move east. Most of the rain in western areas. Increasingly cloudy for England and Wales with drizzle in the west and some fog shrouding hills. A few brighter spells in eastern England at first but the cloud increasing here too. By afternoon rain is into northern England, Wales, the Midlands and southwest England as drier and chillier weather reaches Scotland and Ireland. A stiff westerly breezy and highs at 6 to 8C.
