Remaining blustery for much of England and Wales, strongest winds near to southern coasts. Cloudy in the south, patchy rain, locally more frequent showery rain in southeast England. Clearer skies for northwest England and Wales. Mostly clear for Scotland and northern Ireland with light winds, some fog possible in low-lying areas, especially central Scotland. Frosty in Scotland and Ireland too. Lows 0 to -3C, locally much colder in the Highlands. Milder in Midlands and south, 4 to 7C.

Tuesday
High pressure stays centred over Scotland to Northern Ireland, where areas of fog may persist all day in valleys and low-lying areas. Away from fog there is likely to be plenty of sunshine. Some fog and low cloud for northeast England, the Midlands and into east Wales. Sunshine for west Wales and northwest England. Remaining breezy in southern England and East Anglia with some showers near coasts in the far southeast. Highs 3 to 7C, coolest in foggy areas.

Wednesday
High pressure dominates through midweek. Fog across much of the country, thinning in places, but may persist all day for some low-lying central and northern locations. A light to moderate breeze in southern England with some cloud, local showers near the English Channel coast. Low cloud in the far northwest of Scotland, some drizzle as a front approaches, rain for the Northern Isles. Highs at 3 to 7C, coolest where fog persists.
