Sunday Some bright or sunny spells this morning, mostly in the east. Cloud is going to be increasing from the west with the winds increasing across Ireland, southwest England as Wales as rain arrives during the morning. Apart from some spots of rain in northern Scotland the rest of the morning is dry elsewhere. This afternoon sees the gales and rain advancing into the rest of Ireland, Wales and southwest England. More central and eastern areas of England and all of Scotland should stay dry and mostly cloudy, but with the winds increasing in central and southern England. Highs at 12 to 15C.
Sunday Night A wet and windy night for England and Wales, the rain clearing east from Ireland later. Widespread gales are likely with gusts of 50 to 60mph. The rain could be heavy and thundery in England and Wales too, producing some thunderstorms as well as bringing a risk of localised flooding. Some patchy rain in eastern Scotland and heavy showers in western Ireland. Drier for the central and western areas of Scotland. Lows at 6 to 12C.
Monday A deep area of low pressure over eastern England on Monday. Heavy periods of rain in much of northern England, eastern Ireland and southern Scotland. Strong winds and gales for much of England and Wales. Perhaps a little drier and brighter in southern England although the risk of some heavy showers developing here. Rain turning to showers in Wales too, these becoming heavy at times. Highs at 12 to 15C.
Tuesday Low pressure remains off East Anglia on Tuesday. Fronts surrounding the low bringing rain to central and eastern areas of England. Some patchy rain too in eastern Scotland. Brighter for the west of Scotland, western Wales and southwest England, although an occasional shower here. Brighter in Ireland, dry with some good sunny spells. Windy in the east too. Highs at 12 to 15C.
