A bright and breezy start to the day in central and eastern parts of the UK. More cloud affects western coasts and hills where there will be some showers too. As the morning progresses the showers will become more frequent in the west, gathering to longer spells of rain at times. These then spread eastwards through the rest of England and Wales as well as much of central, western and southern Scotland. The best of the brightness in eastern areas. Highs at 8 to 13C.
Showery bursts of rain this evening, these fading during the night. Heavier bands of showers drifting southwards through the country as the night progresses, most on northern and western coasts and hills. The showers turning wintry in central and northern Scotland. Windy conditions as well with temperatures falling to between 2 and 7C.
Low pressure is to the east on Sunday. The winds turn more northwesterly throug the UK and Ireland bringing a brighter, cooler day with some showers. The morning sees most showers in north and west Wales, and around the coasts of western England and northern Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Scattered showers further east and rather breezy too. These showers fade into the afternoon and for most the day ends cool and bright with the winds easing. A ridge of high pressure builds through the country on Monday. There may be some mist and fog patches on Monday morning, these potentially lifting to low cloud. Current thoughts are that Monday may be a murky day for some with lots of cloud throughout the day. Outbreak of rain and drizzle spread through Ireland and then onto western coasts and hills of England and Wales. The highest chance of sunshine is likely in the east. Highs at 4C in northern Scotland where it will be cold, 11C in southwest England.
