Rain in much of Ireland, northern England and north Wales today. The rain heavy in Ireland and then this afternoon in Wales and oarts of northwest England. Some sleet over hills tops of Wales and northern England. Drier although cloudy and windy in the rest of England and Wales to start the day, then the rain slipping into the Midlands this afternoon. Colder and drier in Scotland and eventually northern Ireland. Best sunshine in Scotland although some snow showers in the north. Highs at 3 to 6C in Scotland, northern England and Ireland, 3C in northern England.

Tuesday Night
Rain through the Midlands and southern England tonight, some of it heavy across parts of western and southern Wales. Drier and colder in northern England, Scotland and Ireland. No frost in the south with lows of 9C, but frosty Scotland and northern England as well as central Ireland at 0 to -2C.
 

Wednesday
A front persists along southern coasts of England and Ireland on Wednesday. Rain here, tending to fade through the areas. At the opposite end of the country it will be cold in northern Scotland where there will be some snow showers. For most other areas the day is cooler with sunny spells, the best in northern England and Northern Ireland as well as parts of Wales. Highs at 3C in northern Scotland, 10C in southwest England.

Thursday
Low pressure south of England on Thursday bringing spells of wet and, for some, wintry weather through England and Wales. Rain could be heavy and will be turning to sleet and snow over central and northern Wales, the Midlands and eventually northern England. Accumulations of snow are likely in these places. Becoming milder and drier in southern England. Colder and brighter Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland. Highs at 13C in the far south ofEngland, 2 to 3C fro the rest of the UK and Ireland.
