Wet, breezy Scotland
Fair, warm elsewhere

Wednesday
A cold front moves south across Scotland, introducing thicker cloud and rain to northern and western areas, with some mist and fog patches possible across the hills. A breezy morning here, with gusts up to 40mph on the hills and coasts, although tending to ease off during the afternoon. A fairly wet afternoon across western parts of Northern Ireland too, with rain tending to ease during the evening. Elsewhere, a fair day for most, with variable amounts of cloud, although tending to become cloudier for all through the afternoon. Temperatures ranging from 18 to 22C across much of England and Eastern Wales, with temperatures of 11 to 14C across Scotland.


Wednesday Night
Outbreaks of rain in western Scotland on Wednesday Night, some of the rain heavy at times. Gusts reaching gale force across northern and western parts of Scotland. Elsewhere, a fairly cloudy night and a mostly dry one too. However, there could be a few spots of light rain across northwest England and north Wales. Temperatures of 10 to 14C here as a result. A colder night across Scotland, lows of 7 to 11C.


Thursday
Higher pressure dominates the south of the UK on Thursday, keeping things largely settled here. Initially a cloudy start across much of southern England and Wales, although cloud tending to break up through the course of the day, with some sunny spells during the afternoon. For Scotland, a wet start across western parts, to leave a largely dry but murky day with some light rain or drizzle possible on western coasts, but tending to remain drier but cloudy the further east. A fairly cloudy day for much of Ireland, although a few breaks possible in the afternoon. Temperatures of 19 to 22C possible in central and southern England 10 to 14C for much of Scotland, and 15 to 18C for much of Wales.


Friday
A westerly flow on Friday with high pressure to the south and low pressure to the north. A warm front brings low cloud, rain and drizzle as wel as more persistent rain to western Scotland, Ireland and western parts of England and Wales. central and eastern areas of England and Wales should become brighter with some bright or sunny spells developing. Staying breezy in Scotland too. Highs at a warm 23C in eastern and central England in any sunshine, 13C in western Scotland.
