Very windy, Gales expected north
Wet north and through the channel

A very deep area of low pressure north of Scotland will dominate Britain today keeping it very windy with strong westerly winds gusting to 60-65 mph over the high ground of Scotland and the northern Pennines. These diminish somewhat in the afternoon but still very windy. A lot of cloud across Britain today. Outbreaks of rain and showers will affect Northern Ireland, Scotland and north west England. Some of this will be heavy. Another area of rain and drizzle is expected to sweep into the channel in the afternoon and at the moment it is expected to affect the southern coastal areas of England. Expect maximum temperatures of 13 to 16 Celsius but feeling chilly in the strong winds.

Monday Night
In the evening and night it will be staying quite windy with gales across the Northern Isles. The rain in the far south clears away this evening. Spells of rain and showers across Northern Ireland, Scotland and north west England becomes patchy and light during the night. A dry night to come across central and southern England with clear skies. Expect minimum temperatures of 7 to 10 Celsius.

Windy today across northern and eastern parts of Britain and staying chilly. Occasional showers to come across Northern Ireland, western Scotland, north west England and western Wales. The rest of Britain should be fine and dry as high pressure builds in from the west. Best of the sunshine should be in the morning with more cloud in the afternoon. Rain is expected across northern Scotland with the rest of Britain dry and mostly clear overnight. Expect highs of 11 to 16 Celsius.

Another very windy day to come. An active front is expected to bring heavy spells of rain to Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern England through the day. Wales along with central and southern England will stay dry until that rain spills in during the evening and night. A number of showers will follow in across northern and western parts of Scotland as the rain clears. Expect highs of 10 to 17 Celsius.
