A zone or rain and drizzle, plus some heavier showery bursts will affect much of Wales, central & northern England, persistent over many hours in places. Possible thunder. Patchy rain further south, may persist for a time in the morning, then breaking up into showers for the afternoon across southern England. Showers too for Scotland and Northern Ireland. A south to southwesterly breeze. Temperatures 13 to 17C, or cooler in rain. Up to 19 or 20C far southeast England.

Friday night
Rain over Ireland will encroach into west & southwestern Britain overnight, to become persistent before dawn for south Wales, plus Cornwall, perhaps west Devon. Patchy rain elsewhere will tend to fade, although may persist for Cumbria and southwest Scotland. Cloudy skies for many. Some clearer skies developing in eastern counties. A southerly breeze, strongest in the southwest, where very windy around coasts and hills. Lows 6 to 11C, locally cooler in Highland Scotland.

Saturday
A zone of fairly persistent rain affects western regions of Britain in the morning, some heavy falls in the southwest. Patchy rain possible in the southeast, but many eastern counties should begin dry with a little sun. Rain is likely to move more widely across the Midlands through the afternoon, with heavy or thundery bursts moving northeastwards. Clearing from the southwest. Risk of slow-moving downpours for Scotland and Ireland. A southerly breeze. Highs 14 to 20C.

Sunday
A southwesterly breeze affects the British Isles, and low pressure is nearby, resulting in a day of sunshine and showers for many places. Rain may be frequent around western coasts from the word go, whilst some heavy and locally thundery downpours will advance eastwards across the country into the afternoon. Some sunshine, best in the east. A brisk breeze, gusty near showers. Highs 14 to 20C.
