For most of England and Wales it will be dry with good spells of sunshine. A few showers in southern Wales and southwest England. These showers become heavier as they spread into southern and central England this afternoon. A risk of a thunderstorm. Becoming brighter in Scotland too, although some showers developing here. An area of low pressure over southern England will be moving north on Friday. This brings heavy rain into much of England and Wales on Friday morning, heaviest in the west. Winds could be to gale force and it will feel cold. Drier and brighter at first in Scotland and most of Ireland, although some showers in the west. The afternoon sees the rain pushing into southern and easter Scotland, with heavier bursts of rain across northern England and Wales. Rain becoming more showery, although thundery at times in central and southern England. Showers continue in western Ireland, although windy and wet in the east. Drier in the far north of Scotland. Highs at 11 to 17C.
