Wednesday
Sunny spells this morning and dry for most as well as feeling cool in the breeze. A few showers over the hills of northern England. More persistent rain affecting northeast Scotland which may merge to longer periods of rain. This afternoon sees the showers in northeast Scotland spread south to southern Scotland and northeast England. They become heavy and thundery at times. Brighter for other areas with sunny spells, just an occasional shower in the west. A northwest breeze and temperatures at 14C in eastern Scotland, 19C in southern England.


Wednesday Night
Thundery showers in eastern Scotland and northeast England tumbling south during the night to be affecting northwest England and parts of western Wales by morning. Scattered showers but mostly dry in the rest of Scotland. A few showers northwest Ireland, otherwise dry and bright with sunny spells. Lows of 8 to 11C.
 


Thursday
Heavy showers, some of them thundery and merging to longer periods of rain affecting much of central, eastern and southern England as well as eastern Wales on Thursday morning as a trough moves south. Much brighter in northern England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and southwest England with sunny spells, although a few showers here too. The afternoon sees the more persistent rain and showers clearing southeast England later, replaced by sunny spells and drier conditions, although some showers inland. A brisk northerly breeze and highs at 12 to 16C.


Friday
A weak ridge of high pressure builds over the country on Friday morning. This is going to be bringing broken cloud and sunny spells. Thicker cloud in western Scotland and northwest Ireland. An isolated shower over the Midlands. The afternoon sees little change with bright skies and some sunny intervals for many. The cloud thickening in Scotland, Ireland, Wales and then western England. Drizzle in western Scotland. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, 16C in southern England.
