Christmas Eve
A front passing eastwards bringing some heavy bursts of rain across northern England, Wales and southwest England early this Christmas Eve morning, squally winds ahead of it. The front then moves through the Midlands and eventually East Anglia and southern England, clearing into the North Sea early this afternoon. Showers and cooler weather following from the west, these turning to snow on the hills as far south as Wales. A much brighter afternoon for most with a mix of sunshine and showers, most of them to the west. Highs at 5 to 12C.


Christmas Eve Night
A clear and cool start to Christmas Eve evening. Don;t forget to check out the skys overhead at 5.18pm for a fast moving, bright star. is it Santa or is it the International Space Station? You decide! heavy showers in western Scotland, these wintry. Increasing cloud in Wales, southern Ireland and southwest England into the early hours of Christmas morning. Lows near 1 to 5C, perhaps one or two icy patches on the roads and pavements by morning.


Christmas Day
Low pressure to the southwest of Ireland on Christmas Day. A cool start to the morning for many. Some snow showers may affect northern Scotland, although these fading. Cloud and rain spreading into southern Ireland and Wales as well as southern England. This moving northwards and becoming heavy, then reaching northern England in the evening. Tending to stay in Scotland once the showers clear. Highs at 5 to 12C.


Boxing Day
Fronts staying over the UK on Boxing Day. These give heavy periods of rain with the focus expected to be through Ireland, west and north Wales, northern England and southern Scotland. This could lead to flooding. Milder and drier in the far south of England, colder with a few wintry showers and rather murky in northern Scotland. Tops near 5C in northern Scotland, 12C in southern England.
