Tuesday
Plenty of cloud through Tuesday morning, some breaks allowing for bright and sunny spells in parts of central, southern and eastern England. Rain and strong winds in northern Scotland with some outbreaks of rain in the south and a few spots of rain in central Ireland. Warm again in many areas. This afternoon brings the rain south into western Scotland whilst eastern and southern areas are drier with some sunny spells. A further band of cloud through northern England with some spots of rain on hills. Drier for southern an central area of England and Wales, a few bright or sunny spells. Brighter too in southern and eastern Ireland. Staying windy in Scotland. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 22C in East Anglia and southeast England.


Tuesday Night
Overnight clearer skies moving into central and northern Scotland and feeling colder here. A few showers in the northwest. Patchy rain at first in northern England and southern Ireland, this rain then turning heavier and more persistent later in the night. Drier in southern areas of England and Wales too with some clearer skies. Lows at 5C in central Scotland, 15C in southern England.


Wednesday
An area of rain associated with a cold front moving south through central and northern England, Wales and the far south of Ireland on Wednesday. This rain slipping slowly into southern England during the day and being heavy in parts of Wales and southwest England later. Drier in the far south of England, but rain here by evening. Colder and brighter weather follows to northern England and Scotland, some showers in the north and northwest. Windy in northern Scotland, Shetland and Orkney where there will be heavier showers. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 22C in southern England.


Thursday
High pressure remains to the south on Monday with lower pressure to the northeast of Scotland introducing a fresher northwest flow. The risk of some showers in the north and west of Scotland. Morning mist and fog patches in central and southern England will be clearing to leave a dry day with sunny spells although always a fair amount of cloud especially in northern and western areas and in Ireland. Murky at times over western coasts. Highs at 23C in the sunshine in the south, 12C in northern Scotland.
