A wet morning through central and southern areas of England and Wales. The rain slowly clearing south. Then plenty of cloud through this afternoon in Wales, central and eastern England. Dry for northern England with cloud clearing to sunny spells. Staying bright in Scotland and Ireland with more sunshine. A few showers in northern and western areas of Scotland. A risk of gales in northern Scotland too. Turning cooler from the north too. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, 10C in southern England.


Tuesday Night
Rain arriving in northern and western Scotland overnight, some drizzle and patchy rain for northwest England and parts of north Wales too. Drier in eastern and southern areas, still with lots of cloud but this being broken. Windy for all, gales north and west. Lows at a mild 4 to 8C.
 


Wednesday
Windy and cloud through Wednesday. Most of the rain in northern, western and central Scotland together with the north and west of Ireland. Further periods of rain for western and northern Wales. Tending to be drier in eastern and southern areas but still windy. The afternoon stays windy with periods of rain northern and west. Tending to be drier in the east and south. Mild at 7 to 10C.


Thursday
Low pressure northeast of Scotland on Thursday. Severe gales affecting all parts of the British Isles, especially the north and west with gusts of more than 70mph. Some rain in western Scotland and the west of Ireland with drizzle in northwest England. Drier in the east and south. The rain becomes more patchy in the west and north in the afternoon. Drier for most other areas and staying very windy. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, 12C in southern England.
