Rain in Scotland still Sunday
Dry, muggy for many

Fronts aligned west to east through central Scotland on Sunday bringing yet more rain, heavy at times in the far west. Dry for Orkney and Shetland until later in the day. Elsewhere, plenty of dry conditions with some mist and fog on hills of northern and western England and Wales as well as along southern coasts. This breaks to leave very warm sunshine, especially in southern areas. Another cold day in central Scotland at just 5C, but nearer 10C over northern coasts, 22C in Ireland and 23C in the sunshine in southern England.

Sunday Night
Much of the rain clears Scotland overnight with patchy rain moving south and affecting eastern counties of England heading through the early hours of Monday. Rain still affecting Northern Ireland in places. Largely dry elsewhere. Lows at 10 to 15C for most.

High pressure remains to the south on Monday with lower pressure to the northeast of Scotland introducing a fresher northwest flow. The risk of some showers in the north and west of Scotland. Also patchy rain through the morning across northern into some eastern counties of England before easing off into the afternoon here. Morning mist and fog patches in central and southern England will be clearing to leave a dry day with sunny spells although always a fair amount of cloud about at times. Murky at times over western coasts. Highs at 23C in the sunshine in the south, 12C in northern Scotland.

Low pressure over Iceland on Tuesday will bring blustery winds and outbreaks of rain to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Less windy elsewhere and dry with sunny spells. Highs at 15 to 24C.
