Monday A shallow area of low pressure drifts across Britain and Ireland. Areas of rain and drizzle affect many places during the day, although small amounts of rain for central and southern counties. Southeast England mainly dry in the morning, some early sun, but cloudy skies prevailing for most of the day. Some heavier bursts of rain for southern Scotland and northern England, plus heavier rain in the afternoon across Ireland. Mostly light winds, westerly breezes in the south. Highs 16 to 22C.
Monday night Persistent rain moves into Wales and northwest England into the evening and night. Rain extends eastwards across central England too, later reaching East Anglia. Small amounts of rain for southern England. Little reaching the northeast. Scotland avoids most of this rain with dry and clear conditions overnight. Rain fades from Ireland with skies clearing later from the west. Westerly breezes will be fresh near the English Channel. Lows 10 to 14C, but dipping toward 5C in Highland Scotland.
Tuesday Pressure builds from the west during the day. Early rain in the east and southeast breaking up but leaving some scattered showers. Cloud tending to thin with some sunny spells breaking through. Localised showers may form over central and northern England into the afternoon. Best sunshine for Ireland and southwest England. Northwesterly breezes rather fresh and cool in the east in the morning, easing gradually, lighter winds in the west. Highs 17 to 22C.
Wednesday A ridge of high pressure covers Britain bringing a fair day for many with sunny spells. High cloud tending to build from the west as a warm front approaches. This will bring rain and drizzle increasingly across Ireland, then reaching western England and Wales by the evening. Some rain later in the day too for Northern Ireland, extending into western Scotland into the night. Southwesterly winds freshening in the west too. Pleasantly warm, highs 18 to 24C.
