Starting fair in eastern England and the east of Scotland today with some spells of sunshine. However, cloud will be increasing and there will be rain here this afternoon. Rain in western areas will be passing eastwards across the rest of Scotland, England and Wales, although it should become brighter and drier to the west as the day progresses. More persistent rain into central and western Scotland again this afternoon with some showers in northern and western Ireland. Breezy in southern areas of England, Wales and Ireland. Highs at 11C in the rain in central Scotland, 21C in southern England.
Rain this evening over eastern England will be clearing to the east. A further area of rain and showers in western Scotland will be turning more showery as it too passes east, although always a few showers remaining in the west. Then dry for most with some clearer skies developing and the threat of some showers over western coasts and hills. Lows at 8 to 12C.
Low pressure off northeast Scotland on Thursday with a weakening occluded front clearing the UK. This front brings the threat of some isolated showers in the morning across much of England and Wales, but these clear to leave a dry day with sunny spells for most. Breezy and showers in much of northern and western Scotland at first, but here to conditions improve to leave drier weather with sunny spells. Increased cloud brings a few spots of rain into Ireland in the afternoon. Highs at 22C in the southeast, 15C in northwest Scotland.
Dry in the east on Friday morning with increasing cloud. Low pressure west of Scotland pushing fronts eastwards. The fronts bring rain, some of it heavy, especially in the west. The rain then passes eastwards and will be heavy at times. Winds will be strong to gale force. Showerier conditions push through Ireland in the morning and then into the west of the UK in the afternoon. Highs at 16 to 21C.
