Dry east & south

A dry start to the day across many areas of England, Wales and Scotland. There will be some morning cloud in East Anglia and southeast England, although this breaking. The best sunshine in the east Midlands and central southern England. A band of rain together with stronger winds in Ireland will be moving eastwards through the morning, reaching western Scotland by lunchtime. The rain band slips east, increasing cloud in England and Wales and extending from central and southern Scotland to northwest England, Wales and a few spots of showery rain in southwest England by this evening. Staying drier in the east with increased cloud, but sunshine in east Anglia and the southeast. Drier weather with sunshine moves into Ireland and western Scotland, a few showers on the coasts here. Highs at 21C in southeast England, 11C in Ireland and western Scotland.

Wednesday Night
A front will slip east tonight taking outbreaks of rain with it. Most of the rain will be light but there could be a few moderate busts across northern England and Wales. The cloud and rain reaches eastern England in the early hours. Clearer skies and drier weather following to the west, although there will be a few showers on western coasts and hills. Lows near a chilly 1C in central Scotland and parts of Ireland, 7C in eastern England.

A weak ridge of high pressure builds through the UK and Ireland on Thursday. This breaks cloud and brings some sunny spells. A risk of an early shower, but then becoming dry. Cloud increasing in western Ireland later as a warm front approaches. Highs at 12 to 17C.


High pressure to the east on Friday with low pressure to the west. A brisk southerly wind give warm weather and some good spells of sunshine in central and eastern England and Scotland. Thicker cloud and rain in Ireland, this pushing into western Scotland, Wales and western England. Highs at 12 to 14C in the west, 17C in eastern England.
