There's a risk of more persistent rain in the southeast. A chance of thunder too. Drier, brighter weather follows to Ireland, Wales and parts of western England later. Rain too in western Scotland, drier central and eastern areas. Highs at 4 to 7C, but nearer 10C in the southeast.

An area of showers merging to longer spells of rain reaching western Scotland and Ireland in the morning, then passing east through eastern Scotland, England and Wales in the afternoon. Some bursts of rain may be heavy with a risk of thunder. Otherwise starting dry and bright with good spells of sunshine in much of England, eastern Wales and eastern Scotland.
