Wednesday
A cloudier day for many central and southern parts of the country today. It should be dry this morning, but some rain arriving through central southern England this afternoon. Most of the rain will be light and patchy as it drifts into southeast England. Staying mostly dry in the east and hot again too. Cooler through more western and northern parts of England and Wales. It should be mostly dry with sunny spells developing. Scotland and the whole of Ireland will have a fair day with cloud breaking and sunny spells developing. Highs at 31C in southeast England, 17 to 23C for most areas in the north and west.

Wednesday Night
An area of thundery rain passes through much of central, southern and eastern England tonight. A few spots of rain are likely in parts of Wales too. After a drier start an odd thundery burst of rain may arrive in northwest England later. Murky and misty for many too. Scotland and Ireland will be drier with broken cloud, although do expect some patchy drizzle in the southern Uplands later in the day. Lows of 10C in Scotland and Ireland, a muggy 16C in southern England.

Thursday
A trough of low pressure affects southeastern England through Thursday bringing muggy and rather murky conditions and plenty of cloud to England and much of Wales. Outbreaks of thundery rain in the morning, especially in northern and eastern areas will continue during the day, although tending to fade. Brighter with scattered showers for Scotland and Ireland and a few sunny spells too. Highs at 30C in the southeast, 18C in western Scotland and Ireland. Friday
A ridge of high pressure building on Friday but with a weakening front stuck across southern England it could be quite a cloudy day here. A few spots of morning drizzle tending to fade and then leaving that cloud, perhaps with some fog on coasts. Patchy rain in northern and western Scotland, but on the whole the rest of England and Wales as well as Ireland should be dry with sunny spells. Highs at 26C in southern England, 17C in northern Scotland.
