A muggy and very warm start to the day for many. A front brings cloud and some patchy rain to western parts of Scotland and Wales as well as eastern Ireland. Some bright or sunny spells for the rest of the UK. Fresher in Ireland, some showers in the far west too. This afternoon see some showery bursts of thundery rain edging east into the Midlands and western parts of England as well as central and eastern Scotland. Still sunny and hot in East Anglia and southeast England. Fresher and drier western Scotland and Ireland. Highs at 29C in east Anglia, 19C in Ireland, 20C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday Night
Cloud and some thundery outbreaks of rain over England and Wales for tonight. Most rain in northern England and the Midlands, although most just patchy. Drier in Scotland and Ireland, clearer spells here but some showers in the northwest where it will be windy. Lows at a fresh 7C in Scotland, but a muggy 16C in southern England.
 

Wednesday
The risk of some thundery rain in Wednesday morning over England and Wales at first. This should be slowly clearing east although it does leave a fair amount of cloud. Drier Scotland and Ireland, some bright spells here although a few showers in the northwest. The afternoon is bright for most with sunny spells although cloud increases in Scotland with rain in the west by late afternoon, and similar in the far northwest of Ireland. Most of Ireland staying dry. Winds increasing in western Scotland and western Ireland to become a fresh southwesterly. Highs at 17C in western Scotland to 28C in southeast England.

Thursday
A front passing south and east on Thursday, weakening as it does so and bringing rain. The rain heavy in Scotland and Ireland at first but tending to become showery and more patchy as it moves south. Brighter, fresher weather following to Scotland and Ireland. Staying fair for much of central and southeastern England, although some showery rain and cloud later. Highs at 14C in western Scotland, 17C in Ireland and northern England, 25C in southern England.
