Mostly dry
Hot in south

Tuesday
A cloudy morning for many with light rain and drizzle over western and southern parts of England, Wales, southern Ireland and southern Scotland. More persistent rain still affecting the far north of Scotland. Largely dry elsewhere. In the afternoon sunny spells will come about for many and with this showers will develop over Ireland and Northern Ireland and in some parts of southern and northern England. Some of these showers could be heavy with the risk of thunder. Plenty of dry conditions elsewhere with rain easing over northern Scotland. Hot in the south with highs at 29C or even 30C in the southeast, becoming cooler the further northwest you go with highs at 19 or 20C in northwest Scotland.


Tuesday Night
Patchy outbreaks of rain affect northeast England, central and southeastern Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday and there will be a fair amount of cloud around. Clearer skies over northern Scotland and the southeast of England. Patches of mist and fog area expected to develop especially through Ireland, Wales, southern Scotland and northern and western parts of England. Overnight lows at 9 or 10C in the north of Scotland, 12 to 19C elsewhere. Feeling very muggy in the southeast.


Wednesday
A weak cold front slides southwards through the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. It will bring some light rain at times but mainly just cloudy conditions as it pushes across southern Scotland in the morning and then down through England and Wales as well as Ireland in the afternoon. Behind this high pressure starts to build across northern Scotland. Hot still in the far south with highs at 28 or 29C here. Becoming progressively cooler the further north you go with highs in northern Scotland at a much cooler 13C.


Thursday
High pressure is squeezed slowly to the northeast on Thursday as a front approaches from the west. A largely dry and fine day across much of the UK and Ireland though eastern coastal regions of England and Scotland could see some mist and fog patches developing. Cloudier to the far northwest of Scotland with patchy light rain and drizzle arriving here later. Cooler in the south with highs at 23C here and 16C in the north.
