Friday The day starts fairly dry and bright across most parts, even though a bit more cloudy in south and east. As high pressure resides to the south, a westerly flow will develop in far north with a band of rain arriving over northern and western Scotland later in the evening. Rain may get heavy for a time over Northwest Highlands and Northern Isles. Temperature in the afternoon will reach up to 3C over Scotland and Northern Ireland, and up to 6C over England and Wales. Frost overnight developing across Northern Ireland and northern England.
Friday Night Any rain in the north will gradually clear overnight with only some light showers remaining over the Northern Isles. Wind will turn northwesterly in north and east, becoming moderate but light elsewhere. An early minimum is expected over Scotland down to 3C but rising overnight. Elsewhere expect minimum of 2C.
Saturday Cloudy over northern Scotland with occasional light rain, and some light snow over the hills. Elsewhere the day will be mostly dry and bright with sunny spells. Best of the sunshine over southern England. Mostly light winds, but moderate in east. Temperatures up to 6-7C over Scotland, 4-5C over Northern Ireland and up to 5-6C over England and Wales.
Sunday As high pressure moves to the west of the UK, a northerly flow will develop over the country bringing colder temperatures as well as wintry showers. Expect frequent blustery showers of sleet or snow over the north and east Scotland, northern counties of Northern Irelands, as well as northeastern coastal parts of England, but we should expect only slight accumulations over higher ground through the day. Further west it will be drier with sunny spells. Best of the drier and brighter weather over the southwest England. Windy in north and east, but lighter elsewhere. Temperatures at around at 3-4C in north and east, but up to 6C elsewhere. Widespread frost developing overnight.
