Sunday night Storm Isha moves across Britain and Ireland during Sunday evening and night, bringing severe gales - strongest gusts focused around west and southern coasts, more widely for northern England and southern Scotland, over 70-80mph in exposed areas. Widely gusts 40-50mph for central and southern England. Heavy rain affects most places, breaking up into showers in the west later. Lows 5 to 9C.
Monday Brisk westerly winds will feel rather chilly. A bright day with sunny spells for central, south and eastern regions. Showery in the west and northwest with frequent bursts of rain and hail, plus snow over higher hills, especially for western Scotland. Passing showers along the south coast. Winds less severe than overnight, but still up to gale force around exposed coasts and hills. Highs 7 to 10C.
Tuesday Low pressure moves toward the northwest of the British Isles. Fronts sweep eastwards bringing extensive rain, heaviest in the west. Risk of flooding for Wales and northwest England. After a dry start in the east, rain moves in during the day. Windy for all, gales around coasts in the west and northwest. Smaller amounts of rain in far south and southeast. Very mild southwesterly air. Highs 10 to 14C.
