Mild in southeast
Heavy rain & winds Wednesday

Tuesday
Low pressure northwest of Scotland on Tuesday with a cold front passing east. A band of rain extending north to south through the western half of the UK during the morning. Most rain in Scotland and over the hills of northern England, turning more patchy in the south. Meanhile, outbreaks of rain affect parts of southern and southeast England up towards Lincolnshire. This rain continues to affect the southeast through the afternoon eventually clearing from the west with brighter weather following. Showers continue to affect western Scotland and northwest England largely clearing Northern Ireland through the day with bright and sunny conditions here and further south. Highs at 16 to 22C.


Tuesday Night
Many showers ease off overnight allowing for mostly dry conditions, though still some showers will push on to western areas, mainly west Scotland. By dawn some patchy rain is expected to move in over Cornwall and west Wales. A cooler night with lows down to 7 to 12C.
 


Wednesday
A deep area of low pressure moves through Ireland and the west of the UK on Wednesday. This brings cloud and heavy periods of rain as wel as severe gales. Most will be dry at first, though starting wet across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Rain soon moves in across western areas of the UK by dawn before affecting the rest of the country afternoon with exception to the far north of Scotland. Eastern and southern areas of England may have lighter rain for a while, although turning heavier. Winds gusting in excess of 60mph and may cause some damage although there is uncertainty over where the worst of the winds will be. Highs at 14 to 17C for most, 20C in southeast England.


Thursday
Low pressure remains on Thursday. A fair start to the day in much of England and Wales as well as eastern Scotland. Windy still to start in the north though winds will soon ease back. Outbreaks of rain in Ireland and with frequent showers on to many western areas of the UK. Longer spells of rain affecting southwest England and south Wales later. A breezy day for many. Highs at 14 to 20C.
