Fronts drive showery bands of rain south through the UK and Ireland, most of the rain in Scotland, Ireland and northern England as well as Wales, but almost all areas are likely to see at least some rain. Sunny spells between the shower bands. Cool in the northwest wind with tops at 21C in southern England, 13C in northern Scotland.
Low pressure off eastern Scotland on Friday. A windy and cloudy day bringing rain across much of Scotland and northeast England, this rain spreading westwards with the rain heavy at times. England and Wales as well as Ireland will be cool and bright with sunny spells. Scattered showers on western coasts and hills but drier elsewhere. A breezy day for all but the far south of Ireland and southwest England. Highs at 12 to 14C for many but 18C in southeast England.
