Thursday The low pressure tracks northeast over the British Isles through Thursday. A cloudy and wet start for south and central areas along with a period of heavy rain. Further north over Scotland and northern parts of Ireland the day starts mostly dry with some sunny spells. Soon thick cloud and rain will arrive there in the afternoon with rain being temporarily heavy along the Central Belt and over the Irish Sea. Northern Isles will remain dry throughout with some sunny spells. Breezy with strong winds in southern and central areas, with some gales in exposed coasts. Temperatures will rise up to around 8C in north, and 12C in south.
Thursday Night Drier weather will follow for most areas in the evening and overnight, but cloudier with outbreaks of rain over Scotland and maybe some coastal showers elsewhere. Minimum temperatures at 2C over Ireland with patchy frost, 4C over Scotland, and 6-7C over England and Wales.
Friday It will be a brighter day with a few showers, at first over coastal areas, but as we move through the morning showers will develop inland too. Some of the showers will be on the heavy side with a rumble of thunder especially for Ireland and northern/central England. Becoming drier again in the evening with a few showers remaining over coastal areas. A breezy day with maximum temperatures at 9C in north, and 12C in south. Frost developing overnight over Scotland.
Saturday Another bright day for most with some sunny spells and a few morning showers, these developing more widely in the afternoon. Again there is a risk of heavy and thundery showers over Ireland and Northwest England. A longer spell of rain is possible in the morning over Southeast England. Winds will be lighter than of late with temperatures in the afternoon rising to around 10C in north and 14C in south. Frost overnight over Scotland away from the coast.
