Eastern thunder tonight

Thursday
A warm and fair morning over much of England and Wales, although some showers are going to be drifting into Wales and the southwest this morning. Cloudier skies in Ireland and western Scotland with a front bringing outbreaks of rain into the west of Ireland. This afternoon sees the outbreaks of rain spreading east through Ireland. Scattered showers in northern England and the south and east of Scotland, and a few arriving in southern England. Best of the sunshine always in the east. Highs at a very hot 37C in southeast England, widely 28 to 33C, nearer 22 to 24C in Ireland.


Thursday Night
The risk of some thunderstorms developing in southeast England this evening as well as southern and eastern Scotland. Drier weather arrives in the west where there will be cloud too. Some drizzle in southern Ireland with breezy conditions here too. Lows at a muggy 16 to 18C for many, 20C in the southeast.
 


Friday
Lower pressure is expected west of Ireland on Friday. A developing front over East Anglia brings a wet and thundery start to the morning here. Cloud and muggy weather in many areas with cloud in the west and south, where there could be some drizzle on hills. Brighter with sunshine and showers in Ireland as well as western Scotland. Turning fresher in the west. Highs at 29C in East Anglia, 21C in the west.


Saturday
An area of low pressure drifting north to be off the coasts of eastern England on Saturday. A developing front brings an increasing risk of thundery rain to eastern parts of the UK, increasingly misty here and muggy too. Drier in the west with broken cloud and sunny spells, the best in western Wales and southwest England. Highs at 26C in southeast England, a fresher 20 to 24C for many and 17C in northern Ireland.
