Gusty southerly winds, tending to ease from the west. A cold front moving northeastwards brings rain to Scotland and northern England, a risk of localised thunderstorms - these tending to clear away into the North Sea during the afternoon. Brighter skies arriving from the west with fresher air western Britain and Ireland, 20 to 23C here.
Monday night Staying warm and humid in the southeast, but fresher conditions extend across much of Britain from the west. Skies clearing for most places, a little high cloud at times. Some mist patches forming in the north following daytime rain. Dry through the evening and night for most places. A front moving into Ireland from the west brings thickening cloud, rain and drizzle developing, southwest winds increasing. Lows near 20C East Anglia, 15C Midlands, 10 to 12C north and west.
Tuesday Dry and very warm for central and eastern regions of England, sunshine tending to weaken as high cloud builds from the west. Becoming overcast for Wales and western England, drizzly rain moving in to become more persistent. Rain and low cloud also extending across Scotland from the west. Rather damp and murky in the morning for Ireland, some brighter skies developing from west in afternoon. Light to moderate southwesterly breezes. Highs 19 to 23C west, 24 to 28C east, local 30C East Anglia.
Wednesday A humid atmosphere across England and Wales, a lot of cloud with drizzle and some locally steadier outbreaks of rain for a time. A damp and misty start for many places. May brighten up from the west with time as pressure builds briefly. Possible thundery bursts forming toward the southeast, but these may stay away over the near continent. Strengthening southwesterly winds for Ireland and Scotland with cloud and patchy rain returning. Highs 18 to 24C, warmest in the southeast.
