Friday
Low pressure is going to be edging closer to the southwest through Friday. Generally more cloud than recent days, but some bright spells too, particularly further west where it will be feeling hot for some again. Lower cloud, mist and fog may again affect eastern coasts of England and Scotland. Some showers developing across central and southern Ireland, perhaps affecting some western areas of Wales. Cloud will thicken considerably across southwest England and south Wales later on with patchy rain possibly pushing in across Cornwall into Devon by evening. Highs at 23 to 29C.

Friday Night
A band of rain, heavy in places, will push northwards into south Wales and central southern regions of England overnight. Patchy rain could affect as far north as north Wales and the Midlands and perhaps as far north as the Peak District. Elsewhere, it will stay mainly dry with clear spells, although lower cloud is likely to push in on some eastern coasts through the early hours. Lows at 10 to 17C.

Saturday
An area of low pressure will continue to sit to the south of the UK on Saturday. Cloud and areas of thundery rain will affect much of England and Wales with possibly a few showers catching the east of Ireland. The far south of England may become drier for a time, a few bright spells coming through. For Scotland and much of Ireland and Northern Ireland, it is likely to be dry, although some low cloud may affect eastern coasts and a few showers may affect parts of Ireland. Highs at 25C in any sunshine in the south, more widely 21 to 23C, 25C in sunshine in western Scotland and 17C in cloud on eastern coasts.

Sunday
Low pressure affecting England and Wales again on Sunday, bringing spells of rain, some of it thundery and heavy still, as well as low cloud and mist in central and eastern areas. Staying dry across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland and becoming brighter too further west with sunshine developing. Highs at 17 to 25C.
