Heavy rain Scotland
Dry, muggy for many

Saturday
Broken cloud through central and southern England on Saturday morning allowing for some spells of sunshine. Low cloud may affect western coasts at times with drizzle on hills and mist here too. More persistent rain affecting much of Scotland, this heavy in central areas. The rain stays heavy in central Scotland into this afternoon and could lead to some localised flooding. There is a risk of some sleet over the highest mountain tops in central Scotland. Dry in northern Scotland with some sunshine in the far north. Dry for most of Ireland, England and Wales, although always a lot of cloud through Wales and some running along southern coasts of England with the threat of mist and some fog patches. Highs at a very warm 245C in the sunshine in southeast England, just 6C in central Scotland in the rain.


Saturday Night
Continuing to rain in western, central and southern Scotland tonight, again a risk of sleet over the highest tops of the south Highlands and Grampians. Northern Scotland should be dry but cloudy. For England and Wales the night will be dry for many although always a risk of drizzle low cloud over the hills of northern England, Wales, Ireland and the south and west coasts. Lows will be close to 14C in southern England, 2C in central Scotland.


Sunday
Fronts aligned west to east through central Scotland on Sunday bring yet more rain, heavy at times in the far west. Dry for Orkney and Shetland/ Elsewhere there will be plenty of dry conditions too with some mist and fog on hills of northern and western England and Wales as wel as along southern coasts. This breaks to leave very warm sunshine, especially in southern areas. Another cold day in central Scotland at just 5C, but nearer 10C over northern coasts, 22C in Ireland and 23C in the sunshine in southern England.


Monday
High pressure remains to the south on Monday with lower pressure to the northeast of Scotland introducing a fresher northwest flow. The risk of some showers in the north and west of Scotland. Morning mist and fog patches in central and southern England will be clearing to leave a dry day with sunny spells although always a fair amount of cloud especially in northern and western areas and in Ireland. Murky at times over western coasts. Highs at 23C in the sunshine in the south, 12C in northern Scotland.
