Low pressure is centred across England & Wales, bringing gales to the south & south-west of Britain, also the far north-east. Lighter winds for a few hours in the Midlands and Wales. Areas of rain encircle the low, associated with occluded fronts. Some heavy showery bursts, locally merging to several hours of rain. Eastern Scotland may see prolonged rainfall and risk of further flooding. Fairly mild, but feeling cool in the wind, highs 7 to 11C.

Saturday night
Areas of rain clear eastwards during the evening, allowing skies to clear for a time from the west. However, rain may continue in eastern Scotland. Winds easing for a time, but strengthening southerlies will arrive in the south-west ahead of the next frontal system. High cloud advances from the west, and rain sets in across Ireland overnight, reaching Wales & the south-west before dawn. Temperatures 5 to 7C, but lows may locally dip to 2 or 3C.

Sunday
Low pressure to the west of the British Isles pushes an occluded front eastwards across England & Wales, and north into Scotland. Rain sets in for several hours, followed from the south-west by showers. A weak front toward the far north-east may bring further rain to north-east Scotland. Early rain in Ireland clears northwards, followed by heavy showers in the west. Locally strong and gusty winds. Feeling cool, 6C in north, 8C Midlands, 10C south.

Monday
Low pressure centred over Ireland brings and unsettled day to most of the British Isles. Areas of rain, some prolonged falls, mixed with showery bursts. Most frequent rainfall likely toward the west and south-west of England & Wales, where squally winds will gust over 50mph around the coasts. Drier central & eastern areas. A band of rain may persist in eastern Scotland, accompanied by strong easterly winds. Snow over the Highlands. Highs 6 to 10C.
