A fair morning in many parts of the country with a touch of early frost. There will be sunny spells for many, the best of them in the east. Increased cloud in Ireland and western parts of the UK with rain in southwest Ireland. Windier here too. The breeze picking up as conditions turn wetter in Ireland and eventually west and south Wales as well as southwest England this afternoon, Staying dryer in northern and eastern areas the best of any sunny spells always in eastern areas. Highs at 3C in northern Scotland, 10C in southwest England, 6 to 8C for many.

Periods of rain spreading east and northern through tonight. It is going to be breezy too. Heavier periods of rain in southern and southeast England as well as central Scotland. Tending to be drier in the west. Turning increasingly misty and murky. Lows near 5 to 9C.

A milder day overall with low pressure to the west of the UK. Periods of rain spreading northwards through the UK and Ireland. The morning is likely to be wet in Scotland, then drier in the afternoon. Rain in southern and eastern England turnings heavier and more persistent in the afternoon as it spreads northwards through all areas of Wales and England, perhaps bringing a risk of some local flooding later in the day. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 12C in southeast England.
