Thicker cloud in western Scotland and Ireland as a weakening cold front edges eastwards. This brings outbreaks of rain, the heaviest in western Scotland. This afternoon sees what remains of the front into southern Scotland, northwest England and western Wales, giving a few spots of rain. Turning brighter, windier and fresher in western and northern Scotland as well as through Ireland where there will be a few showers in the west. Highs at 7 to 9C.
