A dry day for central, east and northern regions. Sunshine and variable high cloud, tending to thicken from the southwest. Some early fog patches clearing. Rain setting in for southwest England, turning heavy. Rain moving into south Wales. Heavy rain for southern Ireland advancing north. South to southeasterly winds strengthening, gales around coasts in southwest. Highs 7 to 10C.


Monday night
Rain continues to push across Wales into central-southern England and the Midlands during the evening and night. Heaviest rain overnight for east Wales. Heavy rain for a time in Northern Ireland. Cloudy in the west of Britain, clearer skies toward the east. Brisk southeasterly winds, gales around coasts and hills in the north and west. Low temperatures 1 to 4C, local patchy frost in Highland Scotland.


Tuesday
A slow-moving front drifts eastwards over England and Scotland, bringing overcast skies, rain and drizzle, tending to fade in the afternoon. Brighter skies spreading across Wales, central and western England, some sun breaking through. Drizzly showers near to some western coasts. Light winds for many. A southerly breeze for Ireland with cloud and patchy rain. Highs 8 to 11C.
 


Wednesday
Southerly breezes across the country, strongest in western areas. Some rain and drizzle for the southwest of England and Wales. A little drizzle in eastern Scotland. Elsewhere generally dry with fairly cloudy skies, some sun breaking through, mainly to the north of high ground. Heavier rain for the west of Ireland. Highs 7 to 11C.
