Best of the sunshine will be across southern England, Wales and the Midlands. Northern Britain will keep largely grey, murky skies, although the far north of Scotland may see some sun. Very little wind overall. A south-easterly breeze for Devon & Cornwall. Daytime highs only 2 to 5C for most, or 7C south-west.
Wednesday night Dry and clear conditions for much of Britain overnight. Freezing fog may develop widely across low-lying inland regions. Thicker cloud toward the north & west. Mostly light winds inland, but a south-easterly breeze continues around coasts in the south-west. Patchy rain and milder for Ireland. Temperatures near or below freezing for most of Britain, lows 0 to -2C towns, -5C or locally lower rural areas.
Thursday High pressure situated toward the south-east of Britain maintains quiet, settled conditions, particularly across central & eastern regions. Some sunshine, and mainly dry. Areas of mist and fog in the morning may be locally slow to clear in low lying areas. An increasing southerly breeze brings thickening cloud and a little drizzle to western coasts & hills. Temperatures rising slowly to highs of 3 to 5C, or 7C in the south-west.
Friday Fronts move in from the Atlantic, bringing rain to Ireland and western Britain early morning, heavy over several hours, possible sleet on hills at first. Rain advances eastwards through the day, reaching eastern Britain into the afternoon or evening. Brighter spells and showers follow in western areas. A brisk southerly wind, strongest north & west. Early weak sun and frost in the east, where it stays cool at 4 or 5C, but rising to 10C in west.
