Fresh Scotland and Ireland

High pressure south of the country on Sunday with low pressure to the north. Scotland and much of the north and west of Ireland will be dry with some good spells of sunshine. Showers affecting the west of Scotland but dry elsewhere. For England and Wales there will be more cloud with a front bringing rain to Wales and parts of the the south of northern England. Lots of low cloud on hills. Further drizzle and patchy rain drifting into the rest of Wales and the Midlands in the afternoon. Staying muggy and drier to the south, fresher and mostly dry across Scotland, northern England and Ireland. Highs at 23C in southeast England, 14C in northwest Scotland.

Sunday Night
A damp and misty night for most of Wales and parts of northern England as cloud shrouds windward facing coasts and hills. Cloudy in southern England with some mist and fog along coasts. Drier for Ireland, the far north of England and Scotland, a few showers in northwest Scotland. Lows at 4C in central Scotland, 7C in Ireland and 15C in southern England.

A front lying through northern England, the Midlands and Wales on Monday bringing lots of cloud and damp conditions. Drizzle and outbreaks of rain in these areas too with lots of cloud and mist shrouding hills and coasts. Drier in southeastern areas. Brighter for Scotland and Ireland with some showers in the west. Through the morning the rain may become heavier and more widespread in much of England and Wales with a risk of thunder.Staying brighter for Scotland and much of Ireland although always with showers and outbreaks of rain in the west. Highs at 23C in southeast England, 14C in Scotland and 15C in Ireland but just 14C in parts of northern England.

A westerly flow through the British Isles on Tuesday. Bands of showers and more cloud in Ireland with most of them to the north but then brighter in the afternoon. Cloud and some rain in northern Scotland too. Other areas will have broken cloud with some showers, most of these in the west. Drier and brighter east and south. Highs at 18C in the far southeast, 12C in northwest Scotland.
