UK Forecast - March 03, 2019
Cooler
Wet & windy

Monday
An unsettled day on Monday as a cool westerly airflow affects the country. There will be showers for most, some frequent in western areas. These will likely fall as snow over the Highlands and Grampians, and as a mixture of sleet and snow over the Pennines and Cambrian Mountains. A wet afternoon too for the south coast of England. The best of any brightness will be over eastern Ireland, North Wales and central England. Staying dry in the east. A breezy day across the country. High temperatures at 6 to 10C.

Monday Night
Staying windy over Ireland and the southern half of the UK overnight with showers persisting in western areas. There could be some heavy bursts of rain for southwestern Scotland and northwest England. A frost may develop across northern and central parts of Scotland where low temperatures and low wind speeds allow its formation. Overnight lows falling to -3 to 4C.

Tuesday
A westerly airflow prevails on Tuesday bringing a mixture of good sunny spells and scattered showers. These showers could merge to give some heavy bursts of rain over central Scotland and will likely fall as snow over higher ground in the north. Eastern parts of Wales and England will see the best of the dry, sunny weather before a low pressure system moves into southwestern areas through the late afternoon and evening bringing strong winds and heavy rain to south Wales and the West Country. High temperatures at 7 to 11C.

Wednesday
An area of low pressure moves from the southwest across the southern half of the UK on Wednesday bringing heavy rain and strong winds to southern Ireland, Wales, England, and, later in the evening, to southern Scotland. Some very heavy rainfall is expected along the English Channel coast. Higher ground in the north of England and southern half of Scotland will likely see some snow. Winds will gust at gale force, or stronger, across the southern half of the UK and Ireland. Drier, brighter and calmer in northwestern Scotland, wintry showers in the northeast. Highs at 6 to 12C, though 13C or 14C is possible in the southeast.
