Sunday night
Dry and clear for most of England, Wales, south and central Scotland. Extensive frost forming. Showers for west Wales and Northern Ireland, snow falling to practically sea level. Showers locally may also graze the east coast of England. More frequent or persistent snow in northern Scotland. Widely below freezing away from coasts, lows -2 to -5C, colder in some sheltered rural spots.

Monday

Chilly northerly winds bring snow showers to northern Scotland, plus a few bands of snow showers draped around coasts in the west and closest to the east coast of England. Some sleet and rain showers at low levels in Cornwall, snow on hills. Frosty out of sunshine all day. Icy patches. Top temperatures 1 to 3C for most, locally 6C southwest coasts.
