Thursday
South and east England will start the day with thick cloud and outbreaks of rain, this maybe heavy for a time. Rain will slowly move to the east and clear from all in the evening. Elsewhere, expect a mix of sunny spells and showers, with showers being more frequent over western parts of Ireland and western Scotland, heavy at times, and wintry over higher ground over Ireland and Scotland. Temperature will rise up to 7C over most parts.


Thursday Night
Any remaining rain will soon clear from southeast England, with occasional showers following for most. Showers will be more frequent and heavy over Ireland and Scotland and wintry over high ground. A longer spell of rain is possible to push east overnight over Ireland, Wales, southwest and northern England as well as southern Scotland with some sleet even down to low levels, and snow over higher ground. Temperatures will drop to 2-3C across most parts over Ireland, England and Wales, but down to -1C over Scotland.


Friday
A rather cloudy start on Friday. Outbreaks of rain for most, this more heavy in west. Over Scotland a period of sleet or wet snow even down to low levels is possible though the day. Expect some snow over high ground over Wales England and Northern Ireland too. Rest of Ireland will see a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Widespread frost overnight away from the south. Maximum temperature at 5C in north and 7C in south.


Saturday
It will be a rather showery day for most, with showers being more frequent over the east and northern parts of the British Isles. Showers will be wintry over high ground, but also down to lower levels over Scotland, Ireland and northern England but with temporary slushy accumulations only. Breezy over coastal areas. Frost overnight away from east coasts. Temperatures in the afternoon at 5C in north, but 7C in south.
